The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) announced today that Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates—a statewide, residential incentive program—has surpassed $50 million in rebates issued to households across the state. The rebates are helping Georgia families reduce energy costs, improve home comfort, and invest in lasting energy-efficient upgrades.

Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates fully launched in Spring 2025 after months of planning and coordination to align with Georgia-specific requirements and guidance from the U.S. Department of Energy. Over the past year, GEFA successfully built a comprehensive rebate program offering multiple participation options, including single family, multifamily, and DIY pathways, to meet the diverse needs of Georgians.

To support long-term program success, GEFA continues to expand training and certification opportunities that help participating contractors strengthen technical expertise, deliver high-quality work, and grow their businesses. Through partnerships with organizations such as the Southface Institute, contractors can access specialized training that supports workforce development across Georgia. GEFA has also expanded program outreach through retail partnerships to increase awareness of the rebates.

Since the program’s launch, more than 3,500 households have saved, on average, $1,407 on estimated annual energy costs, with an average rebate amount of $12,104.
